Michael Asner (Canada) is recognized as one of North America’s leading speakers, consultants, and authors dealing with public sector procurement and the Request for Proposal process. He helps government entities improve their RFP practices and documents. He acts as an RFP Advisor or Fairness Officer on high visibility procurements. He frequently assists lawyers in procurement cases. His clients include cities, counties and public agencies in Canada and the U.S. (He also assists private sector firms by providing training and consulting on selling to government and creating winning proposals.)

He offers RFP training and workshops throughout North America. Over the last ten years more than 2000 members of Purchasing Management Association of Canada, Ontario Public Buyers Association, Western States Contracting Alliance (WSCA), National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP) and National Association of Educational Buyers (NAEB) have heard him speak. Some of his favorite topics include Bullet-Proofing Your RFPs, Solving RFP Problems, and A Briefing for Elected Officials about Public Procurement.

Michael has published extensively about the RFP Process. His textbook, The Request For Proposal Handbook, is in use in more than 3500 organizations. For the last ten years, he has written and published The RFP Report, a quarterly newsletter, used by public sector buyers.

His latest publication, A Guide for Procuring Complex Commercial Off-the-Shelf-Software (COTS) for Public Agencies, provides help for procurement people in running an effective RFP process in this most difficult area.
